INSURANCE PROGRAM

One of the key benefits of EEF for participating EUSD schools is insurance coverage of EEF school events.  The reality is that while fundraising should be “fun”, many fundraisers do bring some risk to the organizing entity, in this case our foundation.  While we always aspire to produce safe, fun, successful events to support the Foundation's mission, it would not be wise to conduct a fundraising event without adequate coverage for guests and volunteers for any adverse events.

The EEF Insurance coverage provides general and alcohol service liability coverage for all EEF and EEF school events ($1 million per occurrence/$10 million aggregate).  EEF also provides comprehensive Directors and Officers coverage for all members of the foundation board.

The collective purchasing power of the 9 participating schools in the foundation allows us to purchase levels of coverage that adequately protect each school and the foundation at a very fair market value.  For example, it is possible that the cost of coverage for one independent school event might be as high as the overall cost born by EEF.  Each year, the insurance premiums are paid from the EEF “general fund” on behalf of all schools.   

Another benefit of insurance coverage provided by EEF is the service and support of the EEF Insurance Coordinator.  When planning an event, the Insurance Coordinator is available to answer questions about coverage levels, consult with the insurance company about particular activities planned at your event and provide certificates of coverage as needed.  While the EEF insurance is quite comprehensive, the terms and conditions of coverage are specific and should be explored prior to any event.  See the Board of Directors page to contact the Insurance Coordinator.
